Wendy McCormick is a speaker, career coach and author who is a job search expert.  Wendy has worked exclusively with people in job search/career transition for the last 6 years.  Networking is the key to finding a job these days, especially with this economy.  Known as "the networking coach" and the "getting unstuck" coach.  Her seminar on "The Missing Link in Job Search" teaches people how to implement her Five Guiding Principles, which her second book is based on.  When teaching the skills to effectively network for your next job, Wendy implements her Five Guiding Principles as well as teaches strategies and techniques to make networking for your next job fun and productive.  Wendy's career background includes ten years as a department head of an employee benefits consulting firm where part of her job was to hire and fire people for her department.  After that Wendy started her own consulting firm that helped people start their own business or look for their next career move.  Wendy studied Art Therapy at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Psychology and both Loyola and St. Mary of the Woods College.  After graduation from Coach U Wendy focused exclusively on working with individuals in career transition as a coach.  Wendy is a sought after speaker for people in transition as she teaches how to uses the tools of job search, especially networking the more effectively.  Wendy helps professionals leverage the value of networking in transition and for long-term career success. She has helped hundreds of people in the Chicago area come to enjoy networking, build connections and land their next job.

Wendy McCormick, is a Speaker, Author, Coach and ex-Radio Show Host who specializes in helping people get unstuck.  Whether your company is having difficulties reinventing itself, you have disruptive employees, office politics or teams that are not working productively.  Wendy develops actionable strategies to maximize your businesses potential.  It's not just about speaking to her audience; it is about giving them tools to make lasting changes.  In addition to speaking Wendy works with large groups, small teams or one-on-one.  In Wendy’s private practice she mostly coaches CEOs to help keep their lives balanced.  In addition to balancing their lives she gives them tools to help assist their employees in achieving balance and communication skills to enhance their connection with others in all aspects of their lives.

It is important to take care of ourselves and to keep moving forward in a healthy productive way.  Wendy speaks to a variety of groups but always brings the same message of her Five Guiding Principles, which is the foundation of her second book.  She enjoys speaks in corporations helping people realizing that although we are all different for a reason, we all have the same needs and struggles, we are all the same here and we all deserve a great life.  No matter who we are or where we are at in our lives we could all use some guidance along the way.  Wendy does Myers-Briggs tests to help teams be sure they are operating at the full potential of each of the individuals.

Wendy’s
main focus is to encourage people to live an authentic and fulfilling life by developing and implementing actionable plans to reach their goals.   Wendy believes that building a strong personal foundation and discovering your uniqueness is the key to finding confidence.  We need to recognize that when we draw on the strength of others where we struggle it makes us stronger.  She believes we need to be in the moment without being haunted by the past or afraid of the future.

After working as a consultant in the employee benefits world for eight years Wendy moved on to open her own small business consulting firm.  For ten years Wendy helped other’s who had their own businesses. Wendy’s firm would perform the tasks that took the small business owners away from making money.  Wendy did everything from recordkeeping, to writing computer programs to helping put on workshops and seminars.  With psychology always being a passion and consulting and helping others being a common thread in Wendy’s career moving into coaching and professional speaking was a natural next step professionally.

Wendy studied Art Therapy at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Psychology at both Loyola University and St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.   She is also a certified graduate of CoachU and is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) as well as the Chicago Chapter of the ICF. Wendy is also on the Board of Rainbows, an organization for grieving children
